I’ve been lucky enough to work with British Swimming in Loughborough for over 2 years – originally in the role of Sports Science Intern for a placement year, and now as a Nutrition Consultant. I’ve been involved in a range of different projects in my time with British Swimming, but my favourite has to be our Breakfast Club!
The Breakfast Club takes place on a weekly basis to give athletes based at the Loughborough National Centre the opportunity to refuel with a delicious, healthy breakfast after their morning training sessions, whilst enjoying each others’ company too. It’s a time to socialise, learn how to get creative with breakfast (it is the most important meal of the day after all, so you’ve got to make it a good one!), and most importantly, to help with recovery to support training. I prepare a range of hot and cold options for each Breakfast Club, with a brand new recipe each time! Recipes will be posted here or on my Instagram page, so you’ll be able to give them a go yourself and eat like an athlete!
